"everything's scary, do it anyway."
some people get advice from self help books, i get it from other people's trash.
“Everything’s scary. Do it anyway.”
A couple months ago, I saw this typed out on a small black pin stuck to the side of the entrance to my apartment building. I thought about the quote a lot, because it seemed so simple. All the different fears and anxieties I had around all the different things I wanted to do in life really could be wrapped up in the sentence:
“Everything’s scary.”
I didn’t like trying new things. There’s so many variables in new situations or experiences that I can’t account for, so I never felt truly prepared in trying anything new. The frustrating thing about listening to those feelings is that you never get to learn or grow or even accomplish the things you want to so dearly, because you never allow yourself to try.
